On Sunday April 13, thousands of avocado lovers will converge in Fallbrook, California for the 28th annual Fallbrook Avocado Festival. Located in San Diego's North County, the festival offers guacamole contests, art contests, live music, entertainment for kids and family oriented fun.

You can never go hungry at the Avocado Festival, so bring your appetite and come prepared to visit the many craft and food booths. Main and Alvarado Streets are lined with colorful displays and vendors featuring unique clothing, hats, arts, crafts, jewelry, and farm-fresh produce for purchase. A variety of bands and other live entertainment are offered for the pleasure of festival-goers. Beer gardens and numerous food vendors cater to every whim.

Many have discovered the joys of guacamole — as well as the delightful new flavor of avocado chips — during their first visit to the festival.

Activities abound with cooking competitions (come prepared with your best guacamole recipe), as well exhibitions showcasing local talent. There will even be a children’s car-race where the cars are made from avocados!

If you have never seen a giant, inflatable avocado, just come to the Fallbrook Avocado Festival in California and see it in living color — green, that is!
