Christmas Tree Recycling and Holiday Recycling Tips

— January 8, 2014

Those living in single-family residences may place their tree curbside on your regular collection day until January 10, 2014.

To prepare your Christmas tree for recycling—including flocked trees—simply remove all ornaments, tinsel and the tree stand. Cut the tree in half if taller than 4-feet and place at the curb. Tree segments can also be placed in your green-waste container or bundle branches together with twine for collection (bundle should not exceed 4 ft. x 18 in.). You can also recycle other organic decorations, such as garland and wreathes, as well as wood (no pressure-treated or lead-base painted wood), in your designated green-waste container.

Drop-off site will also be available from until January 12, 2014. For locations serving Bonsall, Escondido and Fallbrook and Valley Center (619) 287-7555.
